    Very disappointed with this product because it noted that it whistled when thrown. It seems you need the launcher in order to make the sound as I found out when I wrote the company to inquire as to why the ball did not whistle, however, I did not see any indication on the packaging that the launcher is required in order to make it whistle. When I wrote the company this is what they told me:
    – You do not have to have the Launcher to use the Whistler Ball; however, it is recommended to launch the Balls further and the Ball makes a Whistling sound while soaring through the air.
    While the balls seem sturdy, my main reason for the buying the balls were for the sound it should make.

    My dog is a strong chewer. His dna test says he’s Jack Russell, Rottweiler, corgi mix. These chuck it balls are the best. They last forever! We have some in our collection that have been with us for several years. They bounce great, they are not easy to destroy (if it’s even possible!), they are vibrant colours so easy to find in the grass, and our dog adores them. I can’t attest to the whistling – maybe it’s at a pitch I can’t hear – but I have bought several varieties of this brand and we’ve been impressed with them all. They’re the only balls I buy now.
