KENT MARINE LIQUID CALCIUM
Marine calcium supplement great for hard and soft corals
Easy-to-use concentrated liquid calcium formula
Calcium helps maintain a high pH needed in marine aquariums
Provides necessary calcium to enhance the growth of hard corals, soft corals, and other reef invertebrates. Great for tube worms, snails, and clams, as well as purple, pink, and green encrusting calcareous algae (coralline algae). With regular use, corals open more often and stay attached to their skeletons better. Calcium is vital for the health and growth of corals and also plays a crucial role maintaining high pH needed in marine systems. Phosphate and nitrate free. Does not raise DOC levels. 16 oz treats 6,000 gallons. For best results, use Kent Kalkwasser Mix first.
Contains no EDTA, gluconates, lactates, or other sugars, which increase bioload and may accumlate over time and spur unwanted slime or bacterial growths and/or sequester trace elements.
Remember that establishing and maintaining proper water chemistry over the long term are the most important facets of marine aquarium husbandry. Accurate test kits are crucial to help you monitor and maintain water chemistry.
Directions for use:For Bottles: Add 1/4 to 1 teaspoon (1/4 to 1 capful or 1.25 to 5 ml) per 50 gallons (190 l) of aquarium capacity each day, depending on animal load.
Strive to maintain the calcium concentration with a range of 420-450 ppm. A higher level may result in rapid calcium compound precipitation and deposits, which can possibly be destructive to pumps and other sensitive system equipment.
Aim for an alkalinity of 8-10 dKH (use Kent Superbuffer dKH or ProBuffer dKH) at all times for best growth of reef-building organisms. Use of a strontium supplement, such as Strontium & Molybdenum, will enhance the impact of adequate calcium and alkalinity in a reef aquarium by encouraging corals to expand more fully and deposit skeletal mass more rapidly.
Ingredients:Deionized Water, Calcium Chloride.
Guaranteed Analysis:Calcium (min) 10% or 100,000 ppm
General Information:Phosphate and nitrate free. Contains no gluconates, EDTA, or other organics to raise DOC levels. Concentrated Liquid Calcium alone can provide all the calcium your reef will need. For maximum results, use Kent Kalkwasser Mix first and then raise calcium level with this product. Strontium addition via use of Kent Marine Strontium & Molybdenum Supplement is absolutely necessary. Use of Coral-Vite and Essential Elements are also beneficial.
The following chart is a general guideline of acceptable water parameter ranges for different types of tropical marine aquariums. For reference, we have also provided the average water conditions measured on tropical coral reefs across the world.
Kent Marine Turbo Calcium Information
Description:TURBO CALCIUM provides bio-available calcium for lush growth of purple, pink and green calcareous algaes, snails, hard tube worms and clams. Corals will open more and stay attached to their skeletons better, with regular use. Phosphate & nitrate free! Contains no gluconates, EDTA, or other organics to raise DOC levels, as many competing products do. This product is the main ingredient in other calcium supplements in economical dry form! TURBO CALCIUM alone can provide all the calcium your reef will need, but for maximum results, use Kent Kalkwasser Mix first, then raise calcium level with this product. Strontium addition via use of Kent Marine Strontium & Molybdenum Supplement or TURBO STRONTIUM is absolutely necessary. Use of Coral Vite, and Essential Elements are beneficial, as well.Directions:Start off using 1/8 teaspoon of granules per day on a 50 gallon, lightly loaded reef tank or 1/4 teaspoon of granules on a heavily loaded one. Since animals use calcium, and gallons do not, regular testing of calcium level by a good calcium test kit (Hach TM is recommended) is absolutely necessary with use of TURBO CALCIUM. Adjust amount of addition of the product to achieve a calcium level of about 400 mg/l. A higher level may result in rapid calcium compound precipitation and deposits which can possibly be destructive to pumps and other sensitive system equipment. It is recommended that you regularly check impellers and other delicate equipment for calcium deposits if you run higher (above 400 mg/l) system calcium levels! For best results adjust system KH to 8 to 10 dKH with Superbuffer-dKH or Marine Aquarium pH Buffer.Considerations for use:This product contains anhydrous calcium chloride in dry form. It should be used by experienced reef keepers who desire to rapidly raise the calcium level in their tanks. Novices or casual users should use Kent Marine Concentrated Liquid Calcium or Kalkwasser Mix instead of this product. PRODUCT GETS VERY HOT WHEN MIXED WITH WATER, USE RUBBER GLOVES, AND ALWAYS MIX OUTSIDE THE TANK OR ADD GRANULES TO SUMP OF WET-DRY FILTER SO THEY DON`T LAND ON ANY ANIMALS! ABSORBS MOISTURE, KEEP TIGHTLY CLOSED!Contents:Anhydrous calcium chloride.Precautions:KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! PRODUCT GETS VERY HOT WHEN DISSOLVED IN WATER. WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN HANDLING. Not for human consumption.
Raise and maintain calcium and alkalinity levels in reef aquariums
Provide vital calcium to hard and soft corals and other reef invertebrates
Encourage healthy coral growth and lush growth of coralline algae
The original calcium supplementation method for reef systems. Supplies bio-available calcium for lush growth of purple, pink, and green calcareous algae, snails, hard tube worms, and clams. Contains no gluconates, EDTA, or other organics and is phosphate and nitrate free. With regular use, corals will open more and provide additional long-term results no other calcium supplement can offer. Use 1/8 (minimum) to 2 teaspoons (maximum) Kalkwasser Mix per gallon of fresh water for a stock solution. Use drip system or dosing pump to dispense into aquarium system.
For best results adjust system KH to 8 to 10 dKH with Superbuffer-dKH or Marine Aquarium pHoBuffer first.
Directions for Use:Add 1/8 minimum to 2 teaspoons maximum powder per gallon of fresh water for a stock solution. Let stand for several hours.
Use drip method or dosing pump to drip into system on a continual basis to replace all water lost to evaporation.
Only mix enough to last a week. A white precipitate may form on the bottom of the container. Above this is the clear calcareous water that should be added SLOWLY to the aquarium. When added slowly, Kalkwasser Mix does not cause pH to rise significantly, but measure pH regularly to monitor pH level.
Contents: Calcium hydroxide.
Considerations for Use:If you add a teaspoon or more of Kalkwasser Mix per gallon of water for your stock solution, a crust will probably form on the top of the water in your container. This is normal and it will act to impede the diffusion of carbon dioxide into the kalkwasser solution. This will assist in keeping the kalkwasser solution fresh.
Dosing: NEVER mix Kalkwasser Mix with any buffer. Kalkwasser Mix should be dosed alone. If you mix it with trace minerals, many of them may precipitate out of solution.
Product Compatibility:Kalkwasser Mix can be used with Kent Marine Concentrated Liquid Calcium or Turbo-Calcium for maximum results. Strontium addition via use of Kent Marine Strontium & Molybdenum Supplement or Turbo-Strontium is absolutely necessary, as well. Use of Coral-Vite, and Essential Elements are also beneficial for maximum results.
Precautions:Contains Calcium Hydroxide, a caustic material. Remove to fresh air if inhaled. In case of eye or skin contact, flush with water for 15 minutes. If swallowed, drink 2 glasses of water followed by fruit juice or vinegar. Seek Medical attention. Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. For Aquarium/Ornamental fish use only. Not for fish used for human consumption.
